Poster: Irrigation Technology |
The world laughed when Israel
promised to make the desert bloom, but that's exactly what Israel did. Now the
world looks to Israel for technology to make crops grow in areas where water is
scarce, including parts of the US and third-world nations were people would
otherwise starve.
As a result of innovations by
Israeli scientists, farmers and the Jewish National Fund, Israel is now a
leading exporter of agricultural products. Israel's irrigation technology has
led to vineyards creating award winning wines, high quality fresh fruit that is
exported to Europe, all from the Middle-East's only democracy.
The technology doesn't stop there. Israeli
irrigation innovations are also being used in Africa around the world to end
famine. Israeli greenhouse technology allows plants to be watered with computer
controlled systems which deliver the exact amount of nutrients into the soil,
thus lowering costs while maximizing plant growth with minimal resources. When
farmers want to cut water usage and other costs while growing the best
agricultural products anywhere, they turn to Israel. |
