Most people think of traffic
as the cars and congestion on our nations roads. In Israel, Traffic management
is more than just the flow of cars, it’s the flow of satellites in
space.
Keeping satellites from crashing together is
not only a good idea, it is an necessity. We rely on satellites for a wide
variety of communications, including long distance and mapping. Each satellite
can cost millions of billions of dollars, so keeping them from crashing is a
major concern.
Israel is at the forefront of the
technology of keeping satellites in proper orbits and tracking them, preventing
accidents. There may not be an auto-club in space, but there is Israel. |
